Jason is a military veteran with over 22 years served. He has completed a tour in Bosnia: Roto 3 (98-99) and two tours in Afghanistan: Roto 0 (03-04) and TF 3-08 (08-09).

After being medically discharged, Jason went back to school piggy backing on his criminology education to become a Law Clerk. In the same building of the law firm, was a psychologist whose main clients were veterans. During conversation, the psychologist mentioned that he was almost 80 years old but could not retire as there was no one else to take over his clients. Jason decided right then and there that he would become a Social Worker with his main focus being on veterans and first responders.

Jason is currently enrolled at Wilfrid Laurier University, working on his bachelor’s degree and getting his master’s degree. Jason also has a service dog named Trooper who is always by his side. Jason has been with Cadence for a short time facilitating peer support groups for inpatient veteran and first responders. He is enjoying his journey, and it is his hope to help as many veterans and first responders as possible.
