Felix Cardenas

Social Worker - MSW, RSW

Born and raised in Hawaii, Felix served as a nurse in the US Army and  Viet Nam. He earned his Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Hawaii, specializing in direct practice with individuals, couples, families, and groups in the fields of Mental Health and Community Organization.

Felix has a wealth of knowledge in his field, having worked with multiple organizations such as CAS, Kinark Child and Family Services, and the Alberta Social Services and Child Welfare Dept. He has also worked as a Race Relations and Multicultural Trainer with the Municipality of Metro Toronto. Felix spent time in the role of Clinical Social Worker with the First Nations Health Centre on Manitoulin Island, along with his role as a Social Worker at a maximum security facility in Lindsay, ON.

Felix values compassionate, mindful, CBT, client-centered/family focused, strength based theories. He believes in the rights of people and their need for solidarity for equal protection and benefits, and healing from traumas. He is also open to exploring the neuro-sciences and treatments to look at the functions of the body-brain and its impact and influence on human behavior and conditioning. Lastly, Felix believes in striving for health and resilience in all forms of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
